Prof. Fraser's special area of interest and expertise is inflammatory bowel disease.

Prof. Fraser initiated the establishment of a special clinic for pregnant women with inflammatory bowel disease at the Rabin Medical Center together with the Unit for High Risk Pregnancies.

Prof. Fraser has been involved in research in the field of gastroenterology and received research grants from the Israel Academy of Sciences, United States-Israel Binational Science Foundation Research Award (BSF), Israel German-Israeli Foundation for Scientific Research and Development Award (GIF) and the Ministry of Health in Israel.

Research included the potential dangers of excess radiation exposure in patients with inflammatory bowel disease.

At Soroka Medical Center he started research into the beneficial effects of the Dead Sea environment on patients with Crohn's disease.

Prof. Fraser is long-standing member of the Israel Gastroenterological Association (IGA). He has served twice as a member of the Association Committee; as Treasurer and as General Secretary.
